Chapter 11

Sculpture and Installation what a cool chapter I have always been interested in

Sculpture for me it is one of the coolest if not the coolest art form with that said

lets pick our artists to compare for this week 1st off I choose David Smith's XI

Books and III Apples 1959 and compared it to Mark di Suvero's Origins 2001-2004 1st

off they are both made of steel using basic shapes and forms mixed together to make

their pieces both of these artists blend the different shapes to form what I think

are 2 really cool looking pieces the major differance in these pieces are one is

stainless steel with no paint and the other is painted taking it all in I must

say that I really enjoyed them both. Now on to my next 2 artists are Auguste Rodin

and his work Vaquero molded in 1980 as much as I enjoyed the 1st 2 artists and their

work I enjoyed these 2 a lot more I really loved the great detail that both artist

used in their pieces both are beautiful and so life very breath taking to look at

the lines and details they use seem to bring their pieces to life the major

differance is how and what they are made of with Rodin's piece being made out of

bronze and Jimenez's work being made from Acrylic urethane, fiberglass and steel

even though they were made different they are both equal in their beauty I would

have to say these were my favorite artist's to compare so far

with his work The Burghers of Calons 1884-1888 and I compared it to Luis Jinenez
