I found chapter one to be very interesting with that said lets hope I got the assignment right. My first two artists to compare are Vincent van Gogh and Claude Monet for this I compared Van Gogh's Wheat Field and Cypress Trees to Monet's Fisherman's Cottage on the Cliffs at Varengeville. Both are a nature scene and both artists to me seem they are trying to paint the scene out of focus with a swirling style. where I found them to be different is van Gogh seems to me to be much darker. Although I love both artist's I would have to say I like van Gogh just a little more.
My next two are Juan de Valdes leal and Audrey Flack and for this I compared Leal's Vanitas to Flacks Wheel of Fortune. to me both are very busy paintings with a lot going on you know a lot of things coming together as one. I must tell you I really enjoyed both of these works of art but with all they have in common they are two totally different works of art coming from two different era's Flack uses very bright colors as where Leal uses more natural colors. To me you can see a lot of Leal in Flacks work like I said different yet the same and I really enjoyed both works of art.
